Well, I have finished the oil painting of the beautiful Friesian horse. Such noble creatures!!!
The manes were a bit of a challenge I have to say and it took numerous layers of paint to get them right.
In all I am very pleased with the end result and this particular painting is going on display at a horse riding school in Holland. There it will be used as an advertising tool for a lottery whereby participants buy tickets and all the funds collected go towards a charity. The main prize of this lottery will be a 60 x 90 cm oil painting of the winner's choice, valued at 900,- euros and be made by myself.
This charity looks after horses once they are put into retirement.
The charity seeks to find good loving homes for the retired horses so that they can enjoy the rest of their lives on green pastures with plenty of care and love.
Keep up the good work!!! Should you wish to look at the charity's web site, it is called "Stichting Manege Paarden Pension Fonds", available at :
